Thunderbolt V.
New member here lots of killer info. Just cant find what im looking for.
Currently about to finish off my 525sc blower setup on 454 mag motor in my 21ft laveycraft. I see everyone recommended the v6-14 module for the thunderbolt VI system. My question is is this the same concept for the thunderbolt V? Can I get a 4.3 module and it only advance about 10 degrees on my V8 like the v6-14. Thanks guys appreciate all of you guys. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...242228d351.jpg |
If not, I have a number of brand new TBIV distributors, wires and v16 modules and wire harnesses available.

Ended up going with a msd 6460 box. Locked out at 26 degrees.

9.0:1 compression stock on this l29 gen VI motor. With the blower thats about 12.5:1 on 91 i figured 26 would be good and safe let me know griff.

29° max adv is all that is required to put the peak cyl pressure at 15° ATDC. That being said...the optimal peak timing curve is not linear. 26° is getting very late. Fast burning chambers are not good with boost. They are very unforgiving. If you're only going 5-6psi...not a much of an issue, but it will be a factor that stacks up. Late timing also heats up the exhaust valve and port. Not something you want with boost. |
Thank you for all that info! So your saying bump the timing up a few degrees?
I have Set of edelbrock 6055 heads that I can put on and a como 01-456-8 cam aswell that can go in just got the whole 525sc blower setup running a few weeks ago and flgetting it dialed in better but already wanting a little more outta it. |
