Has anyone used a vacuum pump for a crankcase evac. system on a boat motor?

I wonder if the torque roll is indicative of the low X or not enough trim.. It has been a long while since I have felt at home in this boat. Haven't seriously driven it is 2 years. I punched in the data into hill slip calc and it came out to 7.5%. Hard to believe with a stock non-labbed mirage and stock X dim. I think my tach may be in question....Anyone else got any ideas on the torque roll??

Brad, if you dumped our fat asses on the dock and stayed in it the century mark is for certain:D

Who would drive?

I did notice we had a lot of fuel left. I think we have 3/4 tank - 40 gallons..

I've had those same valve on my MPI motor for almost a year now. I had to get creative and hook up my breather and PCV to them using a 1" copper adapter from Home Depot. I'd like to change this to something a little more professional, but I don't know the size (or type) of fitting that goes inside the KE breather tube. I don't know this AN/NPT,etc. stuff yet. Can you help, WETTE VETTE?

RIC232,
The black fitting on my KE valve covers have a baffled floor and 1" NPT female thread in them. I got 1"NPT to -12 AN fittings and went with a -12 fancy Aeroquip hose nipple (45 degree). The hose is nothing more than 3/4" heater hose with some stainless overbraid and more fancy Aeroquip hose clamps. Overall I have around $150.00 in the fittings and the hoses. Hope this helps and I hope it works.

Brad, Assett says you were getting 5600 RPM. Is that through 1.5 or 1.36 gears? If it is through 1.36 gears I come up with about 13% slip which should be about right. My spinelli comes in at about 13% and the Hydromotive is less at about 7% slip with the Spinelli being about 1-2 MPH faster. Now if you are running 1.5 gears your tach is probably off.

I would think 7% is impossible on a V bottom, anything close to 10 would be wonderful. Tack may be a little off.

Here is a picture of a breather can I use on my engines. Please disregard some of the other temporary plumbing.
