Best MI Motor rebuilder . . .
1 Attachment(s)
I've got a set of old Merc420's I want freshened. I'm in New Baltimore & would like someone close. Who would YOU recommend & why? Thanks!
|
Lenny at Millennyum marine.
He has a great knowledge of engine building from stockers to his own 700hp 565's. He knows boats inside and out and his prices are WAY lower than anyone on the lake. He also does his own machine work. I see where your at and would NOT go to the marina that is pretty close to you unless you want to spend twice as much money as you need to. PM me if you want the name of the marina. Give Lenny a call 586-468-7362 |
Tyler Crockett?

what about sparky??? at Vicous marine on 59 and Jefferson??? he seems very credible to me???
|
How Deep are your pockets? Sterling!!!!!!Wesco Industries (Dave Wesseldyke) or if your a tight ass like me do them yourself!!!
|
Hey dyno....how about Double D/Team Chaos?? They/We do pretty good work.:D :D :D
|
What? You're not recommending "Sophisticated red neck racing"? lol
|
I Would have to agree with 26 scarab. Lenny does a good job, and stands behind his work.
I would also have to agree that he is one of the most reasonable priced. IMHO Ratchet |
What about Bruce Wolfe (maybe spelled wrong). I have heard alot of good things about him and he really helped me out over the phone once when he knew he wasnt going to make any coin from it.
|
I second Bruce Wolfie
Bruce Wolfie of:
Wolfie's Compition Engines is Awesome. He built engines for several of my friends. Stands be hind his work. Del Sol is on the board here and he bought a set of Wolfies engines from a friend of mine. Still running Strong in a big 40' Scarab. Wolfie is in Baroda Michigan, not sure I spelled that right. Anyways right by St. Joe. Good Luck Cougarman |
"Baker, Crockett, Katech, Sterling", Wow, thats some heavy hitters. All are established top notch builders. My son worked about 2 years at Sterling, and has been with Katech about 4-5 years now. If you go to either Sterling or Katech, you better have deep pockets.
Jomar, has also been around a long time and has alot of experience in performance marine. Millennyum, might be your best bet. I know he has done considerable work for 26Scarab, and he seems to be very consciencencious. He is close, next to Beacon Cove, plus he is a boater himself! I don't think Sparky at Viscious does engines anymore, but he is so entrenched in the loop around here he may be a good one to get a referral from. Good luck |
A couple of friends of mine had engine work done at Shipwreck Marine and were pleased with the work. Not close to you, though. They are in Detroit, near Jefferson.
|
Tyler Crockett has done three engines for me with excellent results.

I believe there are several shops in Michigan that do a good job.
Bruce Wolff (Wolffie) got his start with John Lingenfelter and eventually became one of his right hand men. Wolff builds & tunes a lot of offshore stuff for guys in Indiana & Chicago areas. His shop is located in S.W Michigan: (269) 422-1090 |
Engine Builders
Wolfee gets my vote, He came all the way to my place just to give me help on my Blower motors. Try to get one of the others to do that!!My next motors will be by him. wolfee you the man!!:D :D :D eliminator219
