Bulk Head fittings??????

I did a search on the web, but can't seam to find any metal Bulk head fittings??? I need a brass one with 3/4" NPT inside threads??? anyone have a link where to get one? I can find plastic ones real easy, but no metal ones. The local plumbing shop only has them up to 1/2" NPT inside threads.
Thanks.

I expect you tried West and Boat US. You might try Eddie or Rex and here is a link to McMaster-Carr that has about anything I have needed plumbing wise. They have on-line ordering and ship next day(when ordering at night) from Northern Ohio.

You might also try Hydraulic Supply/Aeroquip. They have a distribution facility in Fort Lauderdale near Doller Marine on SW 4th. Avenue. If they have what you need, I'll be happy to pick it up and ship it to you if they won't.

I know of aluminum, stainless and steel bulk head fittings. But no brass ones. Good luck.

Could you try searching under "bungs"?

Aluminum, or S.S. would work also, just no metal ones, they rust. They have to be true bulk head fittings, not just threw fittings. Bulk head fittings have NPT threads on the inside diameter of the fitting. No luck yet. I know they exist!!!
Going to try searching for Bung fittings now.
thanks

Here is a picture of one. Note the NPT pipe threads on the inside of the fitting. This one has 1/2" NPT and I need one with 3/4" NPT.

Kanookstr,

Here is a link to a company that specializes in stainless components for the liquid flow industry.

Try their site and see if they have what you need.

Thanks rbtnt, I tried them yesterday, and couldn't find them on there site. But I left them a message. Hopefully they will get back to me.

Kanookstr,

I just looked at McMaster-Carr online and couldn't you use a brass pipe bushing and lock nut? They have one that reduces 1" to 3/4", pn 4429K415 and a lock nut, pn 4429K126. Both parts total is less than $8 plus ~$5 for shipping.

They have a wide range of sizes listed.

I have an Email sent to them asking if that would work rbtnt, Usually bulkheads have straight threads on the outside. I don't know if that nut will fit NPT threads? But I will find out Thanks

Here's another part number from McMaster Carr for a 3/4 SS bulkhead 6696K61. $77

Kanookstr 12-22-2002 05:51 PM

Thats what I'm looking for!! Now I can ask if they have it in brass or aluminum. The smaller brass one I have now only cost $18.00.
Thanks

rbtnt 12-22-2002 06:35 PM

I saw a brass one at MSC for the same $77.

Kanookstr 12-22-2002 07:00 PM

$77.00 for a brass one??? What the hell are they smoking over there!!! Thats got to be a misprint. well I'll know tomorrow when I call them. I got a few more leads when I did a search using what they called them.."Tank Fuitting"

That brass fitting should be available at a hyd. shop. Eddie Marine has nice fittings in alu. and ss.If you are useing them for steering, besure to use brass or s.s.
