I am guessing you are rotating right so you need to mount on the left side of your plate.

Jafo,

Good question. Most folks install as Boatfreak recommends. I run the Simrek showers which have dual pickups.
We've run the Imco drive showers and it didn't matter which side of the plate they were installed, the pressures were almost identical.

As the prop rotates up and "throws" water at the shower pickup, the actual fan of thrust is 360 degrees. Thus for the top half of the prop rotation you've got 180 degrees of rotational thrust, hence there will be water flying off the blades on both sides.

For further verification, note the rooster tail behind your boat when trimmed out, you'll see pretty much equal distribution on both sides of your drives. Or take a close look at Offshore photos from Freeze Frame or whoever where a prop is 1/2 in the water and note the ring of thrust is 360 degrees. There is more push on one side then the other but still significant enough flow to pressurize a drive shower on either side.

Take care Jafo, hope you can make the Miami show, if not we'll save passes for you at Detroit. (Detroit is running in mid June this year, instead of July.)

Steve
