Hello HP900SC..bye bye 1050SCi???
Hear that the 1050SCi is out and the HP900SC is back in.
Feel sorry for the poor bastards that forked out the tall coin for that obsolete piece of artwork. Man...Merc has got the get their fingers out of their ass and get on the ball...GM is going to wack them right out of factory class and more with the cheaper and better HP3. 500EFI, 525EFI, 575SCi,............................900SC??? Looks like a big gap there. :rolleyes: |
I think the biggest reason for that gap is because of the outdrive issue. Merc goes from their 575SCI which comes with a Bravo and then goes to the Merc 900SC which comes with a #6. They aren't addressing the grey area or the gap.
What's the scoop with the 1050SCI being dropped so quick? Must be that they're having too many troubles with it or something. |

There are several good block castings out there that are NOT having trouble. As Troutly said; there has got to be more to the issue than that. Also, I think the reason a customer would have to buy two engines at a time is because most people who can afford one of those engines in the first place probably have deep pockets---I mean, you are very rarely going to see one of these in a single boat application I would think. Although, I suppose boat manufacturer can buy two from Merc and install them in two single engine boats. But I think the norm would be that the people you see with those kind of engines are going to have at least a twin engine application anyway. But I still think Merc is WAY TOO EXPENSIVE for what you get! My .02 :)
