I'VE DONE ALOT OF POST ON THIS BOARD ABOUT MY EXPERIENCES WITH SYN. OILS .AND HAVE USED THEM SINCE 1977.
YES THE TRANS . AND EVERYTHING REALLY BENEFITS FROM THE USE OF SYN.. AGAIN I LIKE RED LINE IN GEAR BOXES OF ANY TYPE AND AMSOIL IN MOTORS AND AUTO TRANS . DO NOT USE SYN. IN NUMBER 6 DRIVES AND OR TRANS THAT GO WITH THEM !!! DO NOT !!!!!:hothead: ALSO BE SURE THE SYN TRANS.FLUID YOU GET IS COMPATABLE WITH YOUR AUTO TRANS. HOPE THIS HELPS |
Yes it helps bobby. I will change my trany oil also before boating season. It will be alot cheaper than buying a new trany. Well unless I decide to buy a new truck.

Amsoil has a NON SLIP RACING ATF that you CAN use giving improved performance and NO problems. But I wouldn't use ANY synthetic ATF that wasn't "non slip- racing" rated. --- Jer

jp, that's exatly why I havn't tried to use synthetic in an auto trany. If it slips then you just wiped it out. However I don't think that racing oil is the answer for a everyday tow vehicle. It really isn't designed to be driven 50,000 miles.

Rockie; I agree with you when it comes to using the race stuff in your tow vehicle. I was referring to use in MercTransII and B/W units in boats. I do however, use Amsoil's series 2000 (non race) ATF in my motorhome and tow vehicle. On the m/h where I have a tranny temp gauge the oil runs a good 25*F cooler than with origional fossel oil. I just gotta believe it's more healthy. --- Jer

just USE THE REGULAR SYN. IN THE TRUCK AND CARS THERE IS NO NEED TO USE THE RACING OILS ,AMSOIL SAYS 24,000 MILES
