Silent Choice Shutter Assy
 

I am trying to locate the part numbers on the rubber grommets for mercruiser pn 14348a1 which is the old style. All I need is the grommets and not the entire assy. The new style mercruiser pn 807166a3 shows a new style with pn for the grommets which is 25-807167. Can anyone help?

If you are talking about the flappers that fit into the y-pipe, that assembly has been replaced to the newer design. It is 1 peice now. The old style is no longer available, according to my parts guy when I needed the old style. The new is much better. It snaps right in to the old existing pivot pin holes.

You replaced yours with the new style, no drilling or nothing like that?

My original old style one wore the brass bushing out in less than 1 yr and then the hole in the flapper itself almost wore thru. Glad I caught it just in time, otherwise it would have fell down into the y-pipe. Have heard that can cause it to wear a hole in the bottom of the y-pipe from the viberation= water straight into the bilge. Not good.

The new style flappers are hinged in the center of the 1 peice frame housing. It is oval shaped to match the y-pipe. The complete assembly slips into the top of the y-pipe and has 2 nubs that snap into the existing bushing holes. No drilling or anything. Mine took some pounding thou to get the nubs to snap into the holes.
I have heard they are way more reliable than the old ones. Mine are 2 yrs, like new.
