Don't know if this wil help I 'am a BBC type but Dennis Moores book on marine performance showed me how find the the best total timming and the best base timming and I ended up useing the V 6 module because my slightly modified motor needed a lot of base timming to idle well.If we can find out if the same rules apply to both big and small block timming I can post more info on the very easey way to finding you best numbers.
