merc II transmission
 

is there a direct replacement for this tranny? or can someone recommend a good rebuild shop?

I want it to be able to handle 600 hp.


I don't mind sending it off -- if it is done right

I have ran these trans for years.You can replace it with a Borg warner transmission,But you will have to move the engine approximately 5" forward .I have the whole Borg warner 72c setup (trans, Bellhousing, Starter, coupling ) if you are interested.As far as the merc II trans handling 600 hp that is asking a lot even with adding a clutch plate and cyrogenicly treating the gerotor pump .Tom Huber in Franklin Tenn. is reputable as is Marc Berman At Bam marine 954-321-0649.

i was hoping to not have to move the motor -- but i don't suppose thats a big deal since i am pulling it anyhow.


how much are you looking for your setup? and what kinda hp can it take -- how fresh is it?
