95 Ford PSD STALL problem

My 95 PSD has 97,600 miles, and it's stalls @ low, idle, rpms? It starts right back up and runs down the road @ crusie rpms, although, it will stumble sometimes, when I slow down. Changed the fuel filter, didn't help, what do you guys think? Sensor, fuel pump, what?
Audacity, what is your expert opinion?
Thanks,
MD
BTW, this is the first problem I've had with my 95' PSD, other than the CD player going bad!

I would head over to www.dieselstop.com and ask over there.

I have been dealing with the same thing for the last three months. I have 101000 on a 97.

I had a similar problem and it was my cam sensor

Cam position sensor on my '99 went bad. Truck would idle, put it in gear and step on the peddle and it would stall.

Mine did the same thing. It is most likely an intermittent computer or sensor problem. Take it to a Ford dealer and have them take a look at the codes, that will tell you for sure.

Can't remember right now which sensor was bad but it was a sensor that caused the problem. I would be running down the highway and the thing would just loose power. I could pull over to the side of the road and it would idle fine. I would take back off and it would be fine for a while.

Funny thing...it started out as a minor stumble.....and it got worse and worse until it would actually die. I would restart it and it would be fine for a while. One day it did not start back up:rolleyes:

I believe if it is emissions related, Ford may have to cover it up to 100,000 miles:D

Had a similar problem. My Hypertech Chip had some corrosion on the connections. If you have a chip, pull it off and try a test drive.

Guys,
Thanks for the input. Any idea on how much the Cam Pos. sensor change out is from Ford?

Dean,
It takes a 10mm wrench and about 10 minutes of your time. I got mine from a International dealer Part #1825899C93. I can't remember how mush it was but I know it was a lot cheaper than the Ford dealer. BTW this was for a 99 so make sure that # will cross.

The site from Audios post will give you pictures and all the info you could ask for:cool: Ford Diesel link
