Shims
These shims are available anywhere hillbilly parts are sold.
The shims look like a wedge to split logs... They go between the axle and spring to tilt the forward part of the axle up, to reduce the driveline angle. If you don't have them...you need them. The hillbilly parts house may also have transfer case drops if your angle is severe. Do the axle shim thing, and replace the U Joints while your at it. |
Just talked to 4 wheel parts and they said it is a common problem with lifted vehicles and the shim is for the carrier bearing ass.
$35 and ill be fixed up. Hopefully thats what it is. Would you still replace the u-joints? |
"POWERSTROKES SEEM TO GO THROUGH AIR FILTERS FAST"??????
WTF THAT IS A NEW ONE, PLEASE EXPLAIN TO A SECOND TIME PSD OWNER |
Filter boy
That is a big motor that needs a lot of air...plus it's a turbo..
My Vortec 454 dirtys the air filter pretty quick as well. I put a K&N filter in it, and I clean it every time I change the oil. $50 once saves you a lot of buying OEMS, plus you'll add a whopping 4 HP. |
