AFR 335CNC flow numbers

Finally after wating what seems a year I finally got my new AFR 353 CNC heads flowed. It is hell when work get in the way of doing boat stuff. I figured I would post this before I head up to Nacadoches to look over my father-in-law's property & see if we can find any shuttle parts on it. The shuttle flew between his house & downtown Naco.

Flow test was on a superflow 600 with 4.5" test orifice @ 28" of water. Exhaust did not have a pipe on it. These heads are just like I got them from AFR.

Lift Inta Exh Ad In Ex
.200 170 133 164 144
.300 249 178 240 197
.400 313 230 304 257
.500 362 259 362 286
.600 396 268 385 311
.700 405 273 404 319

The intake number we got were better overall but the exhaust were not but since AFR uses a Amduri 2.25" test pipe & we did not my guess is that is what the difference was.

OK, I tried to edit so the number would line up better. I just notice after editing the message did not apear that says this post was edited.

They look like some good flow numbers. It will be cool to see what Jim V has to say about them.

Here are my head flow numbers from a set of Dart 310cc PRO-1 heads that JimV did a full port job on. Once fully ported, they are now roughly about 320cc heads according to JimV. My heads were flowed @ 28" water, No exhaust pipe

Lift I E
.200 149 130
.300 225 171
.400 295 206
.500 348 256
.600 380 286
.700 394 300

I'm certainly no expert, but JimV's numbers aren't too shabby for a smaller port/area

Are bolt on heavy duty Jesels or T & D rockers available for the AFR heads? I have the 2003 AFR catalog and they show stud girdles, but make no mention of Jesel of T & D shaft rockers.

If you call the factory, they have the shaft rockers and will even install them for you at a good price:D :D

I would be curious to know what could be gotten out of a set of NON-CNC'd heads from a full port job by hand---only using AFR's casting?

I will say, those are some VERY impressive numbers from AFR CNC ported heads especially in the lower lift areas. Another thing that was kind of suprising by Turbojack's flow test is that the AFR's actually flowed BETTER than what AFR is advertising in most lift areas. Very interesting for sure!

kamma I got 4 sets cnc 335 and 357 in friday I'll flow them monday //watch the daytona stuff tonight or your boat will slow down

vette we sell them through Kamma so he can help you ,they will but T&D rockers OR JESSELS ON ,but they will not install the sportsman jessels, they are good heads very neat angles and smooth radius :D :D

Those are excellent numbers. Did you flow the intake with AFR's valve or did you have your own? The flow benches should show a consistant difference in the numbers. There may be a back angle on the valve you used vs. AFR's numbers but usually there will be a sacrafice on the high lift numbers. I dont want to start a contest so I wont post my exhaust numbers but I will confirm KAAMA's are without a test pipe. If I had used one, the .700 numbers would be in the 330 area. I'm sure you will be happy with the heads, AFR makes a great product. One last question, what are the venturi sizes on the ports? Respectfully, JimV

Jim, do you have my flow numbers @ .650" lift in your records there? If you do could you please call me or post them? Thanks, Mark

The head are just like I got them from AFR, nothing done to change them up. Only option I got on them was the iconnel 1.88 exhast valves. I asked about going with the 1.94 valves & was told they do not flow as well in these heads.

Not sure what venture sizes are but will try to measure tonight if I have time.
