Question 1.7 Rockers Vrs. 1.8

I AM IN THE PROCESS OF FRESHENING UP A 454 FOR MY 24 BAJA. IT IS A CARBURATED MOTOR WITH WORLD PRODUCTS JENKINS HEADS. EAGLE CRANK AND RODS WITH SPEED PRO FORGED PISTONS. THE COMP. RATIO IS 10:1 USING A FLAT TAPPIT CAM .520 LIFT/294 DURATION ON A 114 CENTERLINE. IT HAS TUBULAR HEADERS WITH NO MUFFS. I USE A BARRY GRANT CARB. ON TOP OF A PERFORMER AIR GAP INTAKE. FOR THE PAST THREE YEARS I HAVE USED A STAMPED ROLLER TIPPED 1.7 ROCKER.
I AM THINKING OF SWITCHING TO A HARLAND SHARP FULL ROLLER WITH A 1.8 RATIO. ANY ADVICE WOULD BE APPRICATED

I'd just get a cam with some more lift. The lift on that one is barely over a stock magnum cam. Then go to full roller rockers.

I have some USED 1.8:1 Crane Gold roller rocker arms with only 50 hours on them if you're interested.

Buy a cam. 1.8 rockers help only in the right situation. You need a cam.

I use a Crane # 134241 in my 454 mag. Its a 226/236, .534/.553 on a 112 lobe separation. It idles at 800rpms and pulls strong to 5400rpm. It was budget priced in a cam lifter kit #134242 for $150 at Summit.
I would think with 10 to 1 you could easily go bigger and make more HP. I have heard a lot of good stuff about the Utradyne 231/239, .550/575 on a 110 lobe sep. No personal experience with it though.

1.7 vs 1.8 isn't enough difference for you to tell the difference.
