Whipple/Procharger Installation

Does anyone have the instructions for the installation of Whipples and Prochargers. The Procharger comes with the SC option so no hole in the pan is required, but what about the Whipples? I have HP 500 carbed motors.

Thanks
Shawn

Shawn, I just installed a Pro Charger system on a 502 mag, have not seen or done a carbed set up. Installation is fairly easy, but for me was very time consuming. First it would be almost a necessity to create some space to work i.e. remove back seat and partitions to the sides of the motor. Remove all accessories from the front of the motor. Reroute cooling system. Relocate oil filter and reroute oil lines. Replace thermostat housing. Bolt up crossover. Remove stock fuel pump and replace with the included fuel system. Place compressor mount and bolt on the compressor and the rest of the front accessories, alternator, powersteering pump, waterpump, no circulating pump. Replace stock crank pulley. Mount intercooler on engine if enough space, else remote mount intercooler. In your case I dont know what's entailed as far as carb work, but you would then install the carb box and connect the air supply hose. You will also need to run a fitting over board to dump the water from the intercooler. I also had to install a boost guage and a fuel pressure guage on the dash and wire it..........Wheewh......
That's not everything but from this you can get an idea of what this entails. I took my time and did it right and everything went pretty smooth. But I will tell you that it will take a good mechanic more than a weekend. But every last bolt, hose, wire , fitting that I needed was in there. If you go procharger, get the SC one, no oil lines. Good luck with your project.
Eric
