496/375 in a 275 baja

I like everything about this boat , I am not a top end freak but do you think this will be enough motor?? or will this be lazy out of the whole? we mostly cruise on big lakes at about 40mph so again the 3 MPH I would get from the 425 hp does not thrill me enough to drop another 5000.00
Thanks:confused:

I love mine. I have a Checkmate 240ZT with the 496 mag 375. The boat has plenty of low end. The only thing I have noticed is that the HO seems to have more of the HP on the top end rpms. From what I am told the only main diffeence is the CAM. Also I am told they both have steel cranks now. Mine has awesome low end torque.

Keep in mind that the HO Mag will help the boat sell easier when it comes time to move up again. I would think the boat should run around 60-62 with the 375hp.

I think Griff's numbers are right on. My friend has a Baja 272 with a 454 Mag (385 HP) and he ran about 63 on a good day. He put a whipple on it and now runs around 75.
