hey sutphil...

the only mods to the stock motors are k&n air filters and synthetic drive oil...(thru-hull exhaust, of course)...i think i'm around 4700 rpm which is in the mag 350 range...when i get up to those rpm's i'm crankin'....i'm still learning to drive at those types of speeds...so, i don't want to rush it....last boat only did 60...single 350...i've seen 68 on my gps.....really looking forward to this summer to dial it in.....the revolutions are a great piece of work...after all the research, reading and conversation....they were the only props that fit all of my personal desires....still got ice up there?...ours is finally gone....first run will probably be early april....i'll letyou know how it goes...c

I am one of the many who have found success with the Merc Rev4. Everything increased including top speed by 1mph going from a 21 Viper (Sorry, I'm an OMC guy....its like a Mirage) to a 19 Rev4. Even though my mph increased, my top RPM dropped from 49K to 45K. Now I have to add more power or get it labbed. If you can, give one a test drive.

I have a two questions.
1. It seems that the four blade lugs the motor, does this put more stress on the drives?
2. I have an 87 Sonic 30 ss with twin 320efis and Alpha ss drives(high X dim.), it is very slow getting on plane(blows the prop out you have to ease into the throttles VERY SLOOOOWLY), and drops off plane quickly. It seems these props will help with this situation, anyone have any input?

PS WOT for these engines is 4800-5200

YES LUGGING The motors will put additional stress on the drives as well as the motors/also what kind of four blades are you running ? As there are so many diffrent brands/and what pitch are they?ARE THEY NEW OR HAVE THEY BEEN WORKED ON?WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY running at w.o.t.? Darin let us know

Darin,
I've got Mirage 21p three blade as far as I can tell they are as factory produced, I should have explained that. I'm looking to get rid of the #2 part of my question, and was wondering if the four blade would stress my poor old SS's too much.
I can spin my current set up to 5400 (5600 limiter)
I have rebuilt both engines over the winter and I have a feeling the situation will be worse with more power.
I'm going to try it first, but if it does not work any better I'm going to correct it ASAP
Thanks
Joe
