Chiller for NA motors???
 

Any manufacturers making them? I have a constant stream of lake temp water dumping overboard from my pressure relief already. It sure would be cool to run it through a heat exchanger and maybe make a few more HP before just dumping it. What do you think Tomcat and others?

Sounds like a "COOL" idea...
 

VETTE, I have asked the same thing from Dustin Whipple for us N/A guys about a year ago, but apparently it takes pressure (as like a blower provides) to push the air through the cooler and on a N/A engine like you and I have it would kill power. I have often wondered about a sort of jacketed intake manifold that has its runners and plenum surrounded by cool water circulated by incoming sea water. I'm sure it would help cool the incoming intake air/fuel charge, but I don't know how much or if it would even be worth it. It would also have to be manufactured in a way that is appealing to the eye as it sat on the engine.

I have seen them for cars some place they went in the intake tube but I cant remember. Check with Bank's.

The only thing you could really do is cool the fuel using one of the new sea strainers from CP with a cool can built in. Other than that would be just setting up your system so your intake remains as cool as possible.

Have you started selling your pressure relief systems yet ?

I have to agree with Kaama but I know I saw an ad for an EFI intercooler kit. I think it was Boostpower but I will have to see if I can find it.

The Prechiller uses Air Conditioning to cool the incomming air charge, so most boats cannot benefit from this.
The water bypassed from the lake is not much, if any, cooler than the air entering the engine now so there would be no advantage to run the air through a heat exchanger.
