Aeroquip Socketless Hose
1 Attachment(s)
Has anyone used the Aeroquip socketless style hose and fittings? I was considering it for some fuel line runs. The fact there is no clamp, concerns me. Can't find any pressure ratings although fuel pressures are relatively low to begin with. I would like to get away from the steel braided due to cost and ease of use with the socketless.
Thanks, Russ |
I use them on my boat. Oil, fuel etc. They work great, the fittings cost as much but the hose is a little cheaper. Real easy to use. Cut hose, oil on fitting, slide it on. Ya got to push hard, you have to cut them apart. I figured if I wasnt gonna do everything I'd stick with a rubber hose. I like the way it looks better too. Jegs or Summit has the best prices for fittings. Aeroquip are the best but I have used Earls too.

Sounds good, DanB.

Trust, the stuff is almost impossible to put on, so there is no way it's comming off.

Just lube it up when you put it together, and it is simple. We use it on race cars all the time without any problems.

I have actually invented new swear words on the lines I made up for my oil system. They aint coming off. I didnt know that hose was rated for fuel though, is it?

Yea, I figured that one out after I tried to put the first one together dry. The second one wasn't much better as the rings seem to squeegee the lubricant off. Now I put lubricant between each ring as I insert the fitting. Much easier. |
I put oil in the hose and then start sliding it on. For the straight fittings once I get it started I grab the hose and the end and smack it straight down, fitting first on to my wooden work bench. Goes together real easy and the wood is easy on the fitting. I got tired of cussing the damn things on. For the 90's and 45's I get two pieces of wood put the fitting between the wood in my vise and shove like hell, again the oil in the hose is key and doesn't make a mess. These fittings and hose never leak, are good to 250-300 psi, and can handle everything except brake fluid.

So it is rated for gasoline service? Coast Guard approval? Are there fittings for the carb?

Socketless hose is fuel rated, but not USCG, nor is Steel Braided line !
