Low H2O after pump change

I had my impeller and housing changed last summer due to a shallow spot. I've never gotten the water PSI back to what I had. Any ideas? The water temp gets up to about 175-180, and stays there. The PSI is low maybe only 15 psi running 50 mph or so. Could something be clogged?

Thanks for the input.

If your impeller deteriorated and you have a merc motor, pieces can get caught at the oil cooler causing a restriction and pressure drop.

See if this helps... Running my boat in the Ft. Myers area every winter the saying goes, if you haven't run a ground; you will. The little sea shells or pieces of your impeller do get stuck in your heat exchanger....Sooooooooooo, it needs to be backflushed.Pull the top hose off of your impeller housing, now pull of the large 1.5 in hose connected to you thermostat housing, stick your garden hose in that large hose, hold on tight and turn on the water, look down at the hose you took off the impeller and watch the crap that comes out of there...This should fix your pressure problem, you may have to do it a couple of times... Happy Boating!!!!!

Forgive the lateness of my reply. I've been swamped with work. Thanks for all the great advise. I seem to have gotten all the pieces of the impeller out (judging by the puzzle I put back together). I'll definately backflushing the system, I'd hope the shop that put the impeller on would have done that.

Thanks again.
