Lexan cover sheets

Slightly OT, I have a sheet of lexan that is in the process of becoming a table top. It was sitting outside for a year or two, and I am having trouble getting the plastic film used to protect if from scratches during fabrication and shipping removed. Anyone have any experience with removing it?

I soaked a sheet of plexi (cabin door) in vegtable oil to get off the old plastic/paper/adhesive covering. It had been sitting inside an open boat for years and was coming off in pieces the size of a dime. Soaked it in Wesson oil for an hour and the stuff slid right off.

Thanks. That should be easy enough to get and try, and the MSDS says it is resistant to oils and acids.

Oh yeah, for some of the tougher spots I used a plastic bondo spreader. It did not scratch it at all.
