I found the pressures still high with the Crane springs. Isky would now be my first choice (pricey) and the Comps would be a good second choice.
If your motors are EFI I would consider a change or at least a valve trane inspection. They may still be ok for a while. If your motors are the carb version you are running on borrowed time! The springs that are on there are bad! If they are carb motors I would also check out the lifters and make sure crimp on the roller keeper is ok.
I know it may sound like a pain but this will save you money and downtime.

Darin at Houston Propellor would be the guy for the extra RPMs for your prop!1

SCOTT AND DAVE are telling you right !!!!
The 929 springs work well their coated ones are even better but the Isky valve train parts are second to none ,,pm me I can get a great price on the number you want :D :D :D

Aren't EFI engines already using CompCAMS springs?
If so how many hours are they good for?

bobby daniels 04-18-2003 02:55 PM

some are it depends on year the older ones had Crane that at around 100 hrs got very weak ( DEPENDING on driveing style) !
Coated springs are worth the money and last ,If you can use ISKY talk with Ron Iskenderian (323-770-0930 ) or I'll help with a price ,good luck !!!!!!!!!!!!
