Wow! Very impressive. How radical is this motor? What is the compression ratio? What are the cam specs? Whats the expected lifespan on the valvetrain?

I need details!

Hey Jim, How much compression is that motor?

JimV 04-21-2003 10:30 AM

The motor is 10.5:1, runs on 92 octane. It likes 33 degrees of timing. We tried different timing, up to 36 (with race gas) and didn't make anymore power. The cam is our grind, .648 lift (same cam as our 540's) and is very user friendly at the dock with a carb or efi. We have been running this valve train set up with great success, lifter/ valve spring change recommended at 300 hrs. The power fell off after 6000 which is OK for a pleasure motor.

Hmm. So what do you think? Same heads on a 565 with 12.5:1 compression with a single dominator on a Dart intake with a solid roller should be 800 plus HP. Ya think or not?

looks good Jim , :D :D
