Re: OT: Favorite Tool Manufacturer

I ended up buying a bunch of Craftsman Tools. I couldn't justify the more expensive pieces as I don't do that much work myself and as Shane likes to point out - I ain't that good at turning wrenches NO HOW!! :evilb:

Seriously, the Craftsman pieces have served me well. But, I did use some Snap On tools recently and they were AWESOME. Some day I'll upgrade.

The boxes might be. They are high quality BTW. Snap on stuff is the nicest IMO. Once you use a Snap On ratchet you'll never want to use a Crapsman POS again. Snap on wrenches are way better too. You could get away with Craftsman sockets, they are ok.

Crafstman sockets are thicker wall than snapon and weaker too. They also don't have a shoulder in them so you cant apply pressure when starting a short bolt. It's the little things that matter.

I agree, I said they were ok but I have Snap On myself. I have some Craftman sets for my kid to use, he's not allowed into the tool box.

Good call on not allowing the kid in the toolbox. I remeber how well I took care of my fathers tools when I was younger.

Pro-mark, those are walmarts brand tools. They are great if you need wrenches to round off bolts
