500 EFI fuel lines

Anyone have experience upgrading the fuel lines on the 500EFI?
I'm putting Aeroquip -8 fitttings from the tanks up to the filter but the stock filter has a 1/4" fitting. Any ideas? Is there a better filter that will bolt on? Will this cause any problems?

Thanks

We used -6 rather then -8 with no problems. There is really no advantage to the bigger line since the fuel filter and cool fuel will ultimately determine flow. I did end up with -8 in the Camaro but it was already there and I wasn't using the cool fuel or filter anyway. Biggest issue to contend with (in the boat) is corrosion (of the anodized aluminum fittings) unless you go with stainless or nickle coated.

If you feel you need larger fittings on the filter housing, you can drill and retap them to 3/8npt.

I can't believe 500 h.p. is supported with 1/4" line but everyone says you need 1/2" or 5/8" to support 700-800 hp.

I was going to install a Whipple so I was already upgrading the fuel lines to -8 but the whipple system doesn't use the factory fuel filter. Now I'm not installing it so all the fittings and hoses are on up to the factory filter.
