Water filter, pressure system needed?

Do I really need to modify my water intake system?
-25 Eliminator Eagle XP....84mph
-502 Mag EFI
-M-3 Procharger
-Imco Extreme Advantage SC Lower D. LWP
-No filter(water)
-Stock procharger water routing(Crossover
Intercooler dumps overboard)
I want to do the right thing but I am......almost ....tired of tinkering and ready to enjoy. I am concered about more water pressure with the Imco drive. The water passage opening is huge and it is open....I would think very easy for lake trash to get in.
Please let me know what you think!

If you have and innercooler you need a sea strainer to keep trash out .
hook a gague up and check pressure some boats we've done with IMCO have tons of pressure and some are 15 to 17 lbs,,PERFECT :D :D

Bobby,
Thanks for the reply....How should the system be plumbed? I know I will need a strainer....any recommendations on brand? Where should the pressure guage be located? Where do you get a pressure relief valve?
Thanks for everyones advice,
Eric
