Counter rotation Alpha

I have a 24 ft Daytona with twin 260s and Alpha standard rotation drives. One of the drives is trashed so I asked my marina that I wanted counter rotation. Last fall they told me they could rebuild it with Cr gears. This spring they tell me that I have to buy a new lower section for $3800. Now what?? Any info will help.

They are rather rare, but they are out there. The prices generally aren't more than a standard rotation. The trick is to find one before you need one.

Thanks guys. Maybe i'll stay with the standard rotation until I can find a CR unit. I'll give you a call.
