desktop dyno anyone??
I'm looking at building these motors, and was hoping someone could run the numbers for me
merlin 3 tall deck 4.5 " ohio crank 6.7 " ohio rods 4.5 " bore JE blower pistons 8.5:1 CR - might end up with a whipple later Hydraulic roller cam --to be determined still--any ideas GM rect port heads with mild porting dart/ edelbrock single plane manifold 850 holley imco powerflow exhaust MSD ingnition I realize that without the cam it's hard just not sure which one to use, in order to keep the whipple option open. Any ideas on the power/torque/longevity of this is greatly appreciated. Any ideas are also welcomed! Dave |
what is the CI 540, 600 ?

get better heads, CNC AFR, Dart, Merlin.

They would be 572's. I realize that the heads are definately not the best, just figured i'd save a little bit of money now and change them at a later date. Probably put some air flow research on at that time.

General good choice for hydraulic roller is Crane 741 or Isky has an excellent piece, but not in the catalogue. You can call me or Ron Iskenderian and they will make one for you. These will run great with or without the blower. AFR's will kill anybody!! Edelbrock Air Gap is the best boat intake I know of. Almost any aftermarket head will beat the GM even after mild work on the GM.
