Stay with the dual plane intake.
What exhaust do you have???? Reversion could be an issue with some cam choices. |
I HAVE GILL EXAUST

Yup, stay with the dual-plane intake, and do yourself a favor and buy Dennis Moore's book on big blocks chevys. I don't agree with everything in there but it's the best book on big blocks I've seen. He knows his stuff.

Crane #134241--#134242 in kit form with lifters, lock plate, and lube. Under $150 for kit at Summit.
Specs 226/236 .534/.553 on a 112 lobe separation Had one in my 93 454Mag. Almost the same cam as the Merc 420. Will make about 425 HP and spin to 5500rpms. Good lopey idle at about 800rpms. Needs about 10*- 12* initial timing nto idle nice. |
