Has anyone tried one of these on a marine application. I have twin 350 mags, and want more. summitracing.com has these for $1500 each?

Thats what Merc used on the 525SC.

Use can use them but keep boost low like around 3-4 lbs. This type of blower is the least efficient and generates some heat in the boost process.

I would put a little hotter cam along with better exhaust and run 4 lbs boost and you should be close to 400 hp.

Merc uses a custom built version of the 177 blower on the 525,its flanged to take a dominator. The street version is the same blower with the small holley bolt pattern. I have replaced a few 525 blowers with the street blower due to the ridiculous price mercury charges. All you need to swap them is a 20 dollar 4150 to 4500 carb adaptor plate run upside down. The initial quality of the blower is not great by any means though. As for what can you expect, a frien ran 355cid smallies with 177's and good exhaust and made 420 hp on the dyno.

what do you mean by initial quality. Is there something that needs to be done to them?

their great have used alot very trouble free ,, of course any other mods. will help 5 lbs boost ,cam pocket port ,,exaust 750- 800 holley indexed:D :D :D

My buddy's boat has 177's on it- runs great!!! Although he has big block's.
