Life span\Hours on a 454Mag?
 

What is the life span on a properly taken care of motor? 1994 454 Mag 500hr. How much life is left? Belonged to and old guy that just cruised around 3K RPM.

Properly maintained and not beaten on regularly...1000 to 1500 hours isn't unusual. If the story is the truth , I wouldn't worry about them.

i agree with Mo. I had firsthand experience with mine, same situation, 3200 cruising speed, meticulously maintained, etc. I did change my exhaust over to Gil Offshore, highly recommend it if the engine(s) is still stock.

Buddy who just bought 1 of them said it looked like it had 100 hours on it when he tore it down. Bought gaskets, put it all back together and slapped it in his boat.
