Intake Crossover

I am rebuilding my sbc and after reading Dennis Moores book I am considering using an intake gasket that would block off the exhaust crossover. How much of an effect on cold starts will this have? How much performance will I gain? My 350 has been bored to .30 over, balanced & blueprinted, 441 heads 202 & 160 valves
polished, might be ported? comp cam 270H, Performer intake, Edelbrock 600 marine carb, Msd ignition box. Stock exhaust.
I boat in Northern Indiana & normally boat in 70 to 90 degree weather.
The sbc goes in a 1986 22' sea ray pachanga.

Thank You
Scott

use a dual pattern cam larger than a 270 /and blocking the exhaust is not a big help on the boat :D :D :D

Thank You Bobby
But I'm confused, should I use a different cam?
And not block the exhaust crossover?
Thanks
Scott

yes sir seeya use one of thier dual pattern cams with a larger exhaust profile and slightly larger intake profile the 270 is on the small side ..
Also in a boat the cross over is 50/50 leave it or take it out I've never seen any improvement or loss due to it..
hope this helps you fly

Thanks for the reply Bobby.
I'll call comp cams and forget the crossover.
