Mirage 25 VS Mirage plus 25 RPM
I know, Someday I'l get you guys tired of my prop questions.
Here is the last one : 1- Wich consumes more RPM ? The plus or the older mirage version ? 2- Considering boat runs 4550 RPM on a 4600 WOT recomended... with a Mirage plus 23. Also considering that a previous model Mirage 25 Labed instead of that plus 23: 4550 - 400 (200 RPM per 1 inch of pitch x 2) = 4150 RPM + 300 RPM (lab finish) = 4450 Prop speed calculator with a 10 % slip says : 4 mph gain Why everybody says it's wrong for me going to that 25? |
mirage vs mirage plus
the Mirage plus has thicker and larger blades than the old style mirage./Darin Houston PROP;) ALSO EVERY LAB JOB IS DIFFERENT COMPARED TO THE NEXT.THATS WHY I AM HERE, IS FOR QUESTIONS,OTHERWISE I would not have a job.

Hey JS232
I have a Baja Hammer with a 7.4 MPI 310 HP. It came with a 23 Mirage plus. With an average to light load I would hit the rev limiter. I tried a friends 25 Mirage and picked up between 1-2 mph and RPM dropped to 4400. I bought a labbed 25 off the board and pull 4500 with a 3-4 mph gain. |
Thanks Ray, your boat is ligther than mine. I would probably hit somewhere in the 4100-4200 with a stock mirage plus 25. That is why I would need the more RPM from a labed job.
Darin : What is your opinion on RPM ? In what of those props am I gonna be able to get the more RPM ?: Labed Mirage plus 25 or Labed mirage 25 ?? |
lab the 25 mirage OR mirage plus 25
The mirage plus is alot thicker and has a little larger bld area than the old style mirage. I would try the mirage and you should be able to pickup 2 to 3 hundred rpm and as far as speed its hard to say what it will do./Darin;)
