Using the K&N adapter, what's to keep the fuel from running into the flame arrester housing and down around the carb onto the intakes? The arrester fits around the outside of the base on mine. Like to get some opinions before drilling any holes!! :D

Sorry I could'nt help you guys out with that one...sorry bout the delay but I was outa town. I did'nt have to deal with that problem with those carbs in that I had used the factory electric fuel pump thats in the pics...and it has no provision for an overflow. I agree with another post here in that if the diaphram ruptures and fuel flows into the base of the flame arrestor it could still drip onto the manifold. I would assume the coast guard would find such a provision unacceptable unless the tube you were connected to entended inside the flame arrestor and directly into or over the carb. Maybe thats not a problem for you there...but here on the Great Lakes one of them threatened me with a ticket because he was able to rotate my flame arrestor a little bit by pulling it pretty hard with his hand! You might want to consider something along those lines....Glenn

I followed rbtnt's idea and drilled a hole in the base of the K+N. I remember that Holley and Mercruiser both make flame arrestors with the fitting ON THE ARRESTOR for the tube. Anyways I put my tube thru the arrestor and zip-tied it along the j-tube facing down.....The zip is just loose enough so I can wiggle the tube free if needed.

Hey BH, did you get the off idle bog figured out. Just wondering what you found, i'm gonna be putting mine on this week. Can you buy different shooters for this model?

Trying to be prepared for all potential problems....:D
