Compression ratio?

How much compression max and estimated HP on this motor for pump gas?
565"
fully ported or CNC aluminum heads with 2.3/1.9
Solid roller cam 272/280 @.050 .714" lift on 112+4
Dart or Merlin single plane manifold.
1050 Dominator
CMI Etop or possibly tube tops.
Water crossover with 142 thermostat and 25 psi water press.
Full MSD ignition
NGK R5671A-9 plugs.
Thanks for your opinions.

VETTE I'll run it on desk top ,over the years its alot closer now :)

jdnca1 05-29-2003 12:44 PM

10.5:1, you should make 775ish

bobby daniels 05-29-2003 04:48 PM

Hey vette you didn't say what kind of heads with brodix 2 xtras it only makes mid 6's and with 335 airflow reaserch it wakes up to
740+ both at 10.5 to 1 the 355's are to big bore 4.600 bore 4.25 stroke also figured ,,,all heads were cnc'd
I think 10 to 1 would be safe on this with a cam this size :) :) :)

WETTE VETTE 05-29-2003 08:01 PM

Thanks for the responses. Bobby, when you say the 355's are to big are you saying there would be a loss in power? I really don't care about low end power below 3500 RPM. I would think that maybe the 355's would do slightly better than the 335's at 5500 plus RPM's. I don't run solid rollers to turn less than 6000 RPM and 6500 is fine with me. Just a thought. Maybe a 4.5" stroke, 4.6" bore with the 355's would be a better choice? How much power with this combo with everything being the same as above except the bore, stroke and 355's?

bobby daniels 05-29-2003 08:20 PM

I'll run it at work tommorow and post .. the 355's are off a good bit til 5500 then they come on and pass the others at 57 with the 4.25 stroke
The 4.5 stroke and 4.6 bore would be perfect with the 355's I've done that and it was a killer ,but will advise from work tommorow :D :D

That sounds like a awsome combo. a nice application for my 540's
I called AFR this AM and they are 4 to 6 weeks delivery on the
345. s complete. $2627.00 each pair complete bolt on. they want another 189.00 for anodizing. Money well spent if ya spending 5000 on heads an then dip them in saltwater.;)

Hey bobby,

Have you ever done a 598 with 9.75:1 Pro 1, 355 heads, and a mid 250's intake/mid 260's exhaust .650 lift roller cam?
If so, just curious of the results you've seen on the dyno.

Thanks
DAVE

Caveman

Is that price with inconnell exhaust and titanium keepers, fully ported?? If so that a different price than what i was qouted-- but that was for the 335's. These are going on a 588cu motor. Although I don't want to rev that high--- 5200 rpm max. I'm going with less cam 244 int and exh @ 50 630 total lift 112 lobe seperation.
And by the way that will be 9.72:1 compression ratio.

dave I tried to p.m. you a dyno sheet from one of the 5 598's we've done this year but your box is full ......

We should have some AFR's in stock !

I used alot of pro 1's until the AFR's came out and I switched as the AFR head exhaust makes it a ton better than the others I've tried :)
