msd 6al box, tach don't work!!!!
 

Well I installed the msd6al box on my 454 mag and now the tach doesn't work ,I was told about an adapter for the tach lead but thought I would check here 1st before I called msd.The boat is a 92 checkmate convincor 251 with the vdo style gauges they don't have a name on them .

Yes. you need the adaptor. I did when I used it.

I have VDO and you need the adapter.Hooks up easily.

What kind of adapter msd?

Read the distructions for the MSD, they explain it in them. I did it on my 251 (86) but I just changed to an Autometer tach so I did not use the adapter.

no joke on the older tachs you need a part msd called a tach adapter ,really thats the name easy to put on ,p.m. me the part number I may have a good used one you can have ,,:D :D
