WHEN ADJUSTING THE FLOAT LEVEL ON A HOLLY CARB DOES TURNING THE OUTER NUT CLOCKWAYS LOWER OR RAISE THE FUEL LEVEL IN THE BOWL?

Lowers it. On the 1050 be sure the fuel level is at the very bottom of the sight glass. I run mine about 1/4 turn below the sight glass and it works great.
