Did someone call my name?

Yesreej,
Not to sound like a smart a$$ or bust on you boat. Buy one that goes faster...it will be cheaper and easier in the long run.:(
I owned a 1988 221 Liberator with a 460 (340 hp) King Cobra...did 62mph. I'm crazy , I built a 540 Ford (625 hp) and could do 80. Yeah I know , now your excited right?
A friend of mine has been on the same quest as you for 4 years now with his 20' Rinker 260hp Merc , then a 330 hp crate engine , then a bigger cam and head work to that one , now a 408 small block. He started out about 55 mph. He's now up to around 65.
At this point we're talking about $1000 per mile an hour:rolleyes: Not to mention one helluva lot of labor on his (and my ) part.

Old boating question "How fast can you AFFORD to go?"

Good luck in any case;)

The cheapest and easiest would be a tuneup...proper prop size for you application , and if you don't already know how to...learn how to trim properly. That alone can give you 2 , 3 even 4 mph;)

Re: more power!!

I owned the same boat 350 mag king cobra drive bone stock 55mph so I went with a balanced and blueprinted assembly high volume oil pump .040 over(forged pistons), lunati cam and lifters, comp springs and rockers, dart heads angle plugs 2.02/1.94 64cc valves unshrouded, thru-hull exhaust, hydromotive nose-cone and 21 pitch viper prop eldelbrock rpm performer and the q-jet carb, electronic ign. The boat ran 62-63 mph. It might of run better if I would of run headers. My friend has the bought and he is putting a stroker in it

I had the same boat for 11 yrs!!! Never a problem, rock solid. I never touched the motor though.
