Time to decide on which oil to run this year
Well it's about time to change the oil and haven't really decided which one to use.
I broke the motor in on the Merc. stuff but can't make a decision on what to change to. Motor is a N/A 540 , solid roller cam, low compression, max rpm 5800. |
Man just for got the best engine oil AMSOIL series 2000 ,,but if your not going to run it REDLINE is next Hands down ,,,,syn. all the way ;) :D :D
|
I agree with Bobby, go with the synthetic. I have been running Amsoil 10W40. No reason to run the heavy stuff on a mild motor in my opinion.

oil
I have only seen valvoline VR1 Racing oil in SAE 50W not in multi weight

Well,
I've decided on the Amsoil 2000 series 20w-50. :) |

Royal Purple Straight 40 weight
|
Good choice on the Amsoil..Where can I ge the straight 40W from Royal Purple anyway ??? around us you have a perfromance car shop selling it.??? no discount if you buy in bulk..

Hey 26...I too choose to go with Amsoil...but you may want to research the 20-50 idea...I am sure it will work but they make a Marine application 15-40 that they say has moisture treatment in it and makes for a better marine oil...at least this is" what" they say. Just an FYI

I was on thier site and must have missed the 15w-50, I would have went that route. Next time.
Thanks for the heads up. |
