What I had to do with my Formula is Measure from the centerline of the outdrive to the centerline of the exhaust tips. Then you measure the width between the two exhaust tips. CMI had instructions on how to do this. If you contact GIL or maybe even go online, you can get the dimensions. I don't think you will need customs tailpipes. You may just need ones made for a TRS boat. Formula was different in that they made theres to fit both a small block and a big block, therefore I needed customs. As for the airgap, I don't now the theory behind it, but people seem to like it. I will e-mail you the specs of my motor just for reference of one way to built 500 horse.

I guess the theroy is a cooler charge of air. The Manifold is open under the carb. it allows air to get on all sides of the runners and therefore cools the intake better. Other that that its the same as the RPM. I guess it couldn't hurt any. It would still have some air under it. But not like it would get in a car.

the main reason its cooler because the bottom is not getting the hot air and oil on it from the valley, nice manifold Id buy it :)
