500 efi NOS
Has anyone ever installed a 50hp or so NOS kit on a 500 efi? I was just wondering about fuel pressure . It has MSD, arizona speed ECM and adjustable fuel pressure regulator. But none of this did anything for the motor.

unless you plan on juice'n every time you you run nitrous is to hard to dial in a prop.

Now theres away to tear up a drive.
I agree with Just Once. Another problem with propping is the power comes on so violently that the prop will cavitate or like above, tear up the drive. |
1. HP500 EFI likes nitrous very much. :) Question is not will it work but how much to give. You will need to upgrade to an adjustable fuel pressure regulator and possibly a larger pump (or a booster pump) depending on how much nitrous you will be giving it. The system uses a bypass jet (and solenoid in some applications) to the vacuum port on the regulator to increase pressure to the injectors.
2. Prop selection can be a problem, unless you have two sets of props and the patience to change them out on particularly promising days. 3. Control the hit with a progressive system if you think that you need to. At 50HP (10%) your not talking about much of a shock to the drive but it pays to be careful. 4. Biggest issue is balance on a multi-engine application - both coming on and shutting off. On the same note, with the 500EFI you pretty much need to use a window switch to ensure that you shut the nitrous off before you hit the rev limiter. 5. With luck I will have dyno numbers on the 500 EFI with nitrous shortly. 50 HP though 200 HP is the plan as it stands today. Based upon testing, the HP gain is modest, the torque gain is brutal.
