Post a desired vertical lift dimension for the hook and I'll see if my setup will work for you. I purchased the crane for about $300 from mcmaster carr. Fabbed the ram extender on a lathe at work for free. My drawing is at work, but I think my hook goes up over 100 inches from finished floor. That is high enough for most perf boats. Not enough for my cruiser though.

Don, is it a lot of work to unbolt and lay the arch forward or back?

To bad you don't live local to me. I have a 38' 12,000 lb lift crane that we use to pull up well pumps. It is the best engine puller in the world. Call a local well driller or a well pumps service and see what they want to pull out the motor. We would charge $125 a hour for a operator and the crane. If you are all ready it wont take long to do.

I have friends in the area with hilo's but it would be nice to be able to pull it at my house. I put my motor back in at my friends farm last night with his hilo takes less than an hour once you get eveything over there. But you blow an hour getting everything there and then find somebody to drive hilo for you.

Dyno,
I've got 2 ruger cherry pickers that will go at least 12 foot high.Cost new 3700.00 will sell 1 for 1000.00.and they don't take up any more room than the small ones.

"I have to beg borrow or steal one all the time! It gets old after a while"

If you would quit pulling them every other week it wouldn't seem so bad:p
Sorry some one had to:D

Fork lift

I Have an old fork lift that has a 10 ft. beam with loops welded to it That slides on to the forks. I am not needing this anymore. It will lift 15ft. up I'll take $800 for complete setup with forklift .
