Carb Base Gaskets

I was wondering what the difference is between the Holley 4-hole base gasket and the open one. In my rebuild kit it only came with a open gasket....I bought a 4-hole spacer and I got 4-hole base gaskets with it...

IMHO, if we're talking the paper thin gaskets, 4-hole versus open will make little if any difference.

If we're talking a spacer or an insulating gasket (1/4" or thicker), then the general rule is that an open gasket/spacer will move the torque peak higher in the rpm band and/or reduce the peak torque. Whereas a 4-hole, will benefit low-end torque compared to top end.

General rule of thumb only.
