Fountain 35 Lightning - how fast

Hi!

I have got a nice quote on a new Fountain 35 Lightning w/twin Merc 496 HO (425 HP). I have not decided if we will buy it.

I would be very happy if you could tell me how fast this boat should run with:

1. 2 x 425 HP
2. 2 x 580 HP (Procharger, etc)
3. 2 x 625 HP (Prosharger, etc)

Lower units will be upgraded ofcourse.

With 500's they run mid 80's, with 575's they run low 90's.

AT least look at to olds ,,,

THE 525 is 84 ,,the 575's on a cool day are 88 to 90 gps heat and weight kill them and 500's are low 80's

whipples are a good choice i've done several of then and they fly

How Fast?

Bobby Daniels is right on. I have a friend with a new 35 with 2 steps with the 575's and it has run as fast as 92-93 in the cool weather and when I rode in it he ran about 88-89 with the temp around 90. I was running with a new 35' this weekend and I was showing 84.3 on GPS and I pulled him a couple of boat lengths running down the lake. He had the same power as I did.
The 500 EFI's. I assume he was running around 81-82. The 500's with some help from some form of supercharging seem to be the ticket. I am about ready for some more power.
(whipples, prochargers, vortech,etc.)
