Need long SS bolts
Does anyone know where I could get 5/16 coarse stainless steel bolts that are 7.5" long, without paying through the nose? Either hex head or cap screw are fine.
Thanks, Tom |
did you try a good hardware store, some of them have stainless threaded rod
|
check the yellow pages in your area under fasteners, it should give you a few names of "bolt dealers that can order them 4 you
|
I would always use McMaster Carr for stuff like that.

South coast stainless. There is no other! Excellent customer service, prompt delivery, friendly folks. Plus an excellent inventory.

Would a threaded rod work for your aplication? That should be a easy find

Do a search under stainless fasteners. The site is called www.stainless-fasteners.com

tomcat,
For stainless hardware try the S B Simpson Group 905 844-3371. I take it you already spoke to Brafasco. |
Thanks all for comments. The cheapest way seems to be threaded rod, but I could also use an aluminum coupler of 6.75" threaded for short bolts on either end. Don't know where to get them do you??

One more place to try for Stainless.
These guys are cheap, you can get onesy-twoseys without a hassle. They have a wide selection polished if you want. http://www.gardner-westcott.com DS |
I went to my local Fastenal dealer and got my 1/2" x 6" stainless bolts in two days. I am not sure how nationwide Fastenal is but if you have one in your area give them a try!

TC- My running buddy is in the nuts & bolts. How many are you needing? I will get you a price.
