Oil spooging out dipstick

I finally finished my '97 Baja Outlaw, started it after replacing the starter, and oil spewed from the dipstick tube.

The new valve covers I got from Eddie Marine only have an oil fill no vent.
I took out the oil fill, covered it with duct tape and popped a pen hole into it just so I could run the Mississippi with the family, but it still got oil on the nice new polished accessories.

What is the answer to relieving that pressure correctly?

Thanks in advance for any help!

The crankcase needs to be vented. Pull the valve covers and put vents in them before you blow the oil pan seals.

Just a pvc in each cover won't help either, done that. Dan's right they need breathers.

WHY WOULD THEY EVEN SELL 'EM?!?

I don't understand it, if there is no other way to fix this problem why would anyone even sell "closed" valve covers?

There are many different types of vents made (short, tall, slim, wide) If they had the vents in them then not everyone would be able to use the cover since sometime items are in the way so the location has to be relocated. Thus a cover with a patch. When I went with a procharger setup I bought a new set of covers because of where I had the vents on my Turbo motor did not clear the Procharger equipment.

I run the tall IMCO vents on my Imco aluminum valve covers. Work great without getting oil on my cover/engine. You'll have to drill into your valve covers. I'm sure Eddie Marine makes vents too that would work.
