trailer axles?

anybody have a good resource for trailer axles....smoked a spindle on my 96 eagle. Damn things are welded on the axle....I could weld a new spindle on but really don't want to make the jig and then hope it's right.

ya just need lenght, and these are removeable spindles on torsion axles!

good luck, i just broke one of my axles, called around to 3 or 4 trailer places and they all had a hard time matching the axle. I ended up ordering mine from the trailer manufacturer in Florida (float-on). Your probably better off ordering it from the marine manufacturer anyway. Then you get galvanized and stainless hardware.

Call Mid-West Brake in Indy, just south west of down town. 888-317-3952 Mark Bower is the manager there, I think. They took good care of me on a 5200 lb drop axle for my trailer a year ago. Even had it UPSed to my home in St. Louis from the mfg. I'll use them again if ever have the need.

I had a friend who smoked one on his eagle. He bought right from Eagle it was reasonably priced.

this axle has a v shape to it....not straight. are all of the eagles that way? i've never really paid much attention to them.... to busy loading the cooler:D

euby,
Seen an empty Eagle with a missing right wheel assembly at a gas station S. of Indy on 65 Sun evening being pulled by a lady, following a Baja outfit.
That you?

euby 07-22-2003 08:42 AM

nope....i was on 67 south around mooresville heading out Friday night. That was a buddy of mine though...he smoked his going down but was almost to Dale Hollow so he left the boat there and pulled the trailer back here to get fixed. It was a rough weekend on trailers. it sounds like somebody needs to start doing their scheduled maintenance. if i could kick myself in the ass i would!!! i normally am very anal about doing stuff right but i bought a new home and just didn't have the time or place to do my bearings this spring. I'm building a 32' x 60' garage right now so that will take care of the place so now all i have to do is find the time!!
