Fuel sending unit

Need some advice guys. I've got a Formula 223Ls, the gas gauge is sticking so I order a new sending unit. Its a universal model with a float attached to a long arm. When I pulled the original out it is a tube style with a float inside it. Should I stick with this type or go ahead and use the universal? I'm worried that with an 85 gallon tank. if I take off will all the gas heaving to the rear of the tank that it might bend the arm on the universal job.

Go to the Formula category.... There was a discussion of the different types there..... the "new" tube type are more accurate. The float arm will not break, but the follow the surge and do not register accurately.... typically 1/4 to 1/2 tank error in gauge from my experience. Do not ever depend on the gauge , it will mess you up every time!!
