gear ratio up or down??? need help
 

Hey gang, need help I have gone to a new engine package and I'm running a 6.2 w/ a bravo III w/ a 1.81:1 ratio. It will only turn to 3400 RPM wide open throttle. Do I need to go to a 1.50:1 or to a 2.2:1 ration. My basic question is do I go up or down on the gear ratio thing...I'm confused.

Why not try smaller props???
If not props, the bigger 2.2:1
