Prop size question

Although I have been boating for years I am still learning about dialing in prop size. I recently installed a 502 with a B+M 174 blower on my Baja 272 and am running about 625 HP on the motor. I am running a 15.25 inch 26 inch/pitch 4 blade Bravo one prop and am hitting my rev limiter at 5400 rpm running 74 MPH. I would like to get 80 MPH out of the boat at that RPM or even a little lower. Any recommendation out there on the right size/brand prop for this application? Any recommendations on where to buy inexpensively?

you may want to try a 28 4blade or even a labbed 28 3blade pitched to a 29. My.02
pm darin@Houstonprop he's very helpfull and I had great luck with props he did for my boat.

prop question

I ,am in New York on vacation ,Sean is at the shop taking care of all BluePrinting, Sean is my brother and has 15 years exp. Sean does excellent WORK.Give HIM A CALL AT THE SHOP.281-580-7767 Thanks Darin M.

Like Jt & Just Once said try a 28 Bravo -one stock prop and then we can dial the prop in .or we can work a trade if we have a 28 which we might.?

Darin, your the man. I don't remember if I told you I ran my 23 that you repitched and labbed. I gained 4.5mph and the motor was running like crap so prolly more.

another prop question

I tried a 28 Spinelli Cleaver this weekend and it lifted the boat too high out of the water. Do any of you think that I will have different luck with a 28 non cleaver?

JUSTONCE 08-11-2003 02:44 PM

too much bow lift, or stern lift. I think you'll have better luck with a bravo 1 4 blade than a cleaver Better plaining and more stern lift.

lewisdre 08-11-2003 02:54 PM

It actualy had too much stern lift.

JUSTONCE 08-11-2003 03:29 PM

???Got me, thats odd for a cleaver, were you trimmed out for enough, I know between diff. props on mine It likes totally diff. drive trim.

lewisdre 08-11-2003 03:46 PM

I was trimmed out enough. I trimmed it all different ways and no luck
